Spotify will begin labeling and suppressing AI-generated musical personas to combat deepfake artist floodings. Starting in mid-September, the platform will apply "AI Persona" badges to profiles lacking a real human representative and strip them from algorithmic recommendations. Spotify will combine voluntary artist disclosures with proprietary detection tools and human moderation to identify photorealistic synthetic profiles.
